Developmental Delay
We Provide Developmental Delay Services for Children & Adults
What is Developmental Delay?
Child development refers to the process in which children go through changes in skill development during predictable time periods, called developmental milestones.
Developmental delay or Sometimes called as Global Developmental Delay, occurs when children have not reached these milestones by the expected time period.
For example, if the normal range for learning to walk is between 9 and 15 months, and a 20-month-old child has still not begun walking, this would be considered a developmental delay. Delay can occur in one or many areas such as gross or fine motor, language, social, or thinking skills.
Horse Therapy For Developmental Delay
Hippotherapy is a form of physical, occupational and speech therapy that uses equine (horse) movement to develop and enhance neurological and physical functioning by channeling the movement of the horse.
By such, the vestibular movement through the horses activates the brain activities. That is when speech, motor movements including walking activates.
